If you want to ask any Cascada related questions, whether it be clarifying something you've heard or you want to request something (i.e. GIFs or lyrics), I'll hopefully be able to get around to it. Or even if you just want to talk about Cascada in general, feel free to :)
Also, if you have any fan art or anything that you'd like to submit, feel free :) so long as it's not overly explicit or anything.
Cascada is a trio made up of lead singer Natalie Horler and her two producers: Manian and Yanou. They first rose to fame with their 3rd single "Everytime we touch", where their eurodance/handsup sound gave them international recognition. After more hits reaching the top 10 in many countries, Cascada decided to take a new direction with their music with their electropop song "Evacuate the Dancefloor", which topped the charts in the UK and Netherlands and the top 10 in many other countries.
Why I love Cascada:
I remember first hearing Cascada when I was on my way home from school and my friend was playing Everytime we touch and my first thoughts were along the lines of: "Hey, this is a pretty catchy song and this woman has a good voice too". And my life did change for the better from that moment onwards. I never really listened to music that anybody else liked (except Avril Lavigne, but I'd gone off her music at that time) and I had absolutely no role model and not very many friends either. I knew I had to find out who the artist of this song was so I looked up the compilation CD that my friend was playing to find the song was by an eccentrically named group known as 'Cascada' (I didn't know what it meant at the time). I didn't even think to look up any more of their music though and remained obsessed with Everytime we touch. My friend had now moved on to the next Now compilation unfortunately, but I found another song to be very catchy called Truly Madly Deeply, and not having the best musical ear, I thought it was a different artist. However, I wasn't quite so obsessed with this other song as I was with Everytime we touch. A few months later, my friend was playing another album, which I presumed to be another one of her compilation CDs. Pretty much every day, she would play track 7 and then I'd get to hear half of track 4 before I was home. So I started to love these songs known as A Never Ending Dream and Bad Boy, still being stupid and not noticing they were the same singer. Goodness knows how much time later, I was watching the TV getting bored out of my mind with the adverts when suddenly, A Neverending Dream starts playing, then Truly Madly deeply and the commentary mentions Everytime we touch. Anyway, I asked for the album but I didn't get it before a distant relative's wedding as I remember that was the day I first heard Miracle in full. So, once I'd got the album and felt like an idiot for thinking all the songs were by different people, I was playing it on a constant loop. As this was around the end of summer 2007 by this time, I was surprised that when I typed their name into google to find that they had a new song called What hurts the most and that they had a new album coming out in December. You'll never guess what I got for Christmas that year. I'd also noticed that they'd covered Sk8er boi, which was a reminder to me that Avril actually existed and it rekindled my interest in her music. And it was also thanks to my new found love for Cascada's music I was able to make some new friends by actually having something to talk about. Admittedly, they do hate their music but whatever. They're nice people and they're the ones missing out if they don't want to listen to Cascada. Anyway, I'd also discovered how amazing youtube could be, watching Cascada videos on a loop and deciding to make my own in turn (which got me over 1000 subscribers before my account was deleted). Anyway, I kept coming across a lot of videos with some strange girl singing and lots of stuff to do with something called Final Fantasy, which is my other total obsession now somewhat thanks to Cascada (why is it that a lot of the most viewed FF GMVs are to old school Cascada songs anyway?). I also kept watching Clubland TV in the hope that they'd play some Cascada, which they usually don't when I'm watching it. I remember in December 2008, I'd been watching it for hours, getting repeatedly annoyed that they weren't playing Cascada but had played some weird video with a catchy song by some Lady Gaga about four times. So yeah, it's thanks to Cascada that I got a new found love for music in general (there are many other artists besides Avril and Gaga that Cascada helped me love now) and that I'm leading a much happier life than I would have had I never heard of the trio. And I will always support Cascada for that reason with everything they do (albeit, I may not necessarily agree with some things they do) so long as Natalie's beautiful voice remains with the music. And no matter what genre of music, whether it be dance or pop or even heavy metal, so long as Natalie's show of talent is still there, I will love whatever music they produce.
So this is why I've loved Cascada since 2007 and most likely will never stop loving their music. Even when they do stop making music, I'll still have their albums to remind me of such a great artist. I am proud to be one of Nat's little ratties and always will do. So this tumblr account is for all you other Nat's rats to celebrate Cascada in all their glory.
